The context
Launch a crowdfunding campaign page and support the media's strategic transformation
Founded in 2013, Socialter is an independent bimonthly print magazine dedicated to analyzing contemporary ecological, social, and political transformations. The magazine seeks to explore ideas and issues that struggle to emerge in mainstream public debate, and upholds an editorial approach that questions rather than dictates.
At the end of 2025, the team reached out to Médianes for two distinct missions. First, to design and deploy a crowdfunding page for the launch of a special issue, drawing on a new web creative direction. Second, to conduct a comprehensive strategic audit to support the media outlet in collective reflection on its editorial and organizational evolution.
Web art direction
Transpose the magazine's identity to the web
Socialter has a strong visual identity built around its print magazine: distinctive typefaces, illustrated and pop art direction, references to comics and animation. For the funding campaign page, we developed a new web design direction drawing on the publication's typefaces and a color palette derived from the featured special issue. This work resulted in the site's visual components (colors, buttons, typefaces) and then the desktop and mobile UX/UI mockups for the campaign page, establishing the foundation for the following pages.
The entire experience designed to reflect the print title's identity, clarify the offering, and guide visitors to key conversion points.

Crowdfunding campaign page
Design and deploy an operational campaign page
Ahead of the pre-sale campaign linked to the release of the special issue "Resisting New Fascisms," Médianes integrated and configured a crowdfunding page hosted on a dedicated subdomain. The design was integrated and the pre-sale system configured: creation of rewards, setup of a progress gauge, and associated automations.
Training was provided to the team to enable them to take ownership of the page and reuse it for future campaigns.
The campaign generated over 5,000 pre-orders for the special edition in about forty days, and recruited over 1,000 new print newspaper subscribers. For the launch of their summer 2026 issue campaign, the team reused the page independently, with Médianes providing occasional support.

Strategic audit and recommendations
Produce a shared diagnostic to inform future choices
In parallel, Médianes conducted a report of findings and recommendations based on an editorial, economic and organizational analysis of Socialter, as well as observations and feedback from the teams. The objective: to highlight the dynamics at work — strengths, tensions and points of friction — and propose concrete milestones to strengthen editorial coherence, clarify working methods and support the media's transformation for 2026–2027.
This work was based on an analysis of internal documents, a launch workshop with the entire team, a survey sent to employees, and individual interviews. It resulted in a report presented to the team and then shared collectively, followed by a post-presentation meeting with management to set out the operational roadmap. Three transformation scenarios were proposed, exploring different strategic directions for the media outlet, each accompanied by a concrete action plan and priority initiatives.
