In the spotlight
At Nice-Matin, we've adopted an approach focused on service and strengthening direct connections with readers through three hyperlocal newsletters centered on the cities of Fréjus and Saint Raphaël, Antibes, and Cannes. Our approach? Like a friend writing to share their weekend plans, complete with unusual stories and insider tips. A valuable channel for reaching new audiences and rebuilding trust by taking a long-term perspective.

Variations on the same theme
On the Actu.fr side, the strategy is rather to launch thematic newsletters. The idea is to start with local subjects to shed light on news at the national level. In this edition devoted to the sea, the newsletter opens with general information about the end of financial support to fishermen for diesel fuel purchases. It then gradually moves from one local area to another, highlighting reports produced by its journalists on the French coastline.

In the first person
The secret is embodying it well. At Marsactu, the Pointue! news newsletter — reserved for subscribers — opens with an editorial by journalist Lisa Castelly. The immersive approach creates a warm and authentic connection with readers, inviting them to dive behind the scenes of the news. In this edition, the editorial team explains, for example, the writing process for a series on racist murders from 1973 in Marseille, the challenges journalists faced, and Marsactu's role in telling this complex history.
