Medianes Program: discover the 4th cohort

Ecology, investigations, sports…Discover the 10 media outlets selected for the 4th cohort of the Médianes Program, our support initiative for independent, emerging and mission-driven media.

For this new and final edition of the Médianes Program, ten projects led by passionate teams have been selected to receive eight months of collective support. The goal is to provide them with the time and resources needed to step back and evaluate their project, deepen their knowledge in areas essential to media development, acquire entrepreneurial and management skills, and thus take their growth to the next level.

This support program, grounded in values of social justice and the defense of an inclusive and sustainable society, is aimed at independent media outlets, generalist or specialized, committed to producing quality information with a positive impact on society.

With support from the Ministry of Culture, Médianes continues its mission of accessible support through the Médianes Program, at a cost of €150 per month per participant, drawing on a network of expert practitioners.

A selection of committed and inspiring media

Among the 26 projects received in the call for proposals launched in February, 16 were selected for individual interviews with the Médianes teams. A jury of media experts then convened to review these projects and select the 10 media outlets that will join this edition. The objective: to form a cohesive and complementary cohort, in line with Médianes' values, and to enable participants to mutually benefit from their strengths and experiences to foster collective dynamics of mutual support.

We ensured that the selection reflects great diversity, both in terms of formats and themes and project maturity. From Dijon to Arles, via Lyon, Normandy and Île-de-France, these media — launched a few months or several years ago — take the form of print magazines, websites, podcasts or newsletters. They range from local to international and explore subjects ranging from ecology to social justice, including sport and culture.

The following six months will take the form of individual mentoring.

The training modules, led by media experts and professionals, will cover a variety of topics: strategy, marketing, management, design, law, and communication.
