Simplify
Every reader should be able to find a way to unsubscribe by accessing their personal account, without having to hunt for instructions in an outdated FAQ or buried deep in your media's Terms and Conditions. The Holy Grail? One-click unsubscribe like Netflix.
Understand
It's confirmed, your reader has just left you. What's worse than being dumped without understanding why? Financial reasons, lack of time to read your content, content no longer relevant enough… Like Les Jours, don't hesitate to collect data on why your former readers unsubscribe. In time, this should help you refine your subscription offers.
Compromise
While it's pointless to cling to your ex-subscriber like a limpet to its rock, nothing stops you from reminding them of the benefits of their subscription. And if that's not enough to win back your loved one, you can always think of compromises. How about offering them a subscription gift card for someone close to them or simply taking a break for a few weeks? That's what Service95, Dua Lipa's newsletter, offers for example.
