The Imprimé Festival returns for its third edition on May 4, 2024, at the Rocher de Palmer in Cenon, near Bordeaux. Once again this year, the festival is committed to journalism that serves a more caring, inclusive, and sustainable society!
After two editions bringing together figures from Mediapart, Vert, Toutes des Femmes, Libération, Mosaïque, Disclose, Reporterre, Cash Investigation and Youth For Climate, the Imprimé Festival is back this spring. Here's what we have to tell you.
At the project's origins, the defense of committed journalism
Since 2022, we have been co-producing the Imprimé Festival, dedicated to committed journalism. An initiative born from the collaboration between Médianes and Revue Far Ouest, an independent media outlet based in Nouvelle-Aquitaine that explores current debates through a local lens.
The idea? Bring together journalists, experts, schoolchildren, professionals, and engaged citizens from the Gironde region and beyond once a year in Bordeaux to help promote a society through the lenses of ecology, feminism, and social justice.
Through this event, centered on journalism and commitment, we aim to highlight the fundamental role of media in bringing attention to and adopting new societal models that are more respectful of the environment and more equitable.
On the 2024 edition's agenda
To place the social, political and environmental challenges of our time at the heart of public concern, we are proposing a day of conferences and debates this year. The program features 4 panel discussions and a special presentation.
Among the speakers, we will welcome journalists, authors and activists from Mediapart, StreetPress, Quota Climat, Disclose, Period, Arrêt sur images, and Reporterre:
- 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. — Media and the Far Right: After Normalization
Theses promoted by the far right appear to be gradually penetrating every aspect of society, starting with the media. What role do the latter play in facilitating the circulation of these discourses?
- 2pm – 3:15pm — Media and sexuality, a genuine social issue
If sexuality is commonplace on social media, traditional media remain hesitant about the subject. Are our values, convictions, and activism destined to stop at the bedroom door?
- 3:30 PM – 4:45 PM — Covering ecology in the age of backlash
As climate-related topics multiply, their coverage faces audience fatigue and the persistent lens of the old world. How can we approach the phenomenon of media avoidance?
- 5pm – 6:15pm — Journalists and Source Protection
News has repeatedly reminded us of this: the protection of sources, so crucial to the practice of journalism, is not guaranteed. How can we ensure the preservation of this essential principle?
- 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM — The Future of Journalism

Public distrust, the rise of generative AI, social media outrage, media concentration… How can we reinvent and protect journalism's role to enable journalists to continue fulfilling their mission of serving the public interest and helping us better understand the world we live in?

A free-price event
The Printed Festival is designed with the support and participation of partners. The goal? To make the festival accessible to as many people as possible. Whether at a local or national level, these supporters are selected for their alignment with the approach, values, and commitments of the Printed Festival, and more broadly of the event's co-producers: Revue Far Ouest and Médianes.
To sustain this initiative, we've also chosen to offer pay-what-you-wish ticketing. We believe it's essential that everyone can participate in debates about the major issues of our time, regardless of their means. We're opening the event to contributions, allowing us to make this type of gathering permanent: an approach that aligns with the accessibility, inclusivity, and equality values at the heart of the festival's positioning.
